Honesty first: the market watched this exact lineup for 10+ minutes and did NOT move — consensus prices this pick at roughly minus 5 percent, and our own quantification puts the angle at breakeven-at-best. The opposite read may well be right: the striker-less XI could be a deliberate tactical plan by Petković — who coached Switzerland himself for seven years — rather than a weakened Algeria; our thesis simply weights the missing number nine more than the market does. This is a judgment call against a neutral market, not an edge claim; a win will NOT validate the read (n=1). Line-craft: -0.25 rather than -0.5 halves the damage on a draw (29 percent — the highest draw probability we have faced this week), the France-Sweden push-insurance principle.
